ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet is used in combination with other drugs to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infection.

ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

• ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet belongs to the nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors class of drugs. ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet blocks reverse transcriptase, an enzyme essential for human immunodeficiency virus to replicate itself, thereby stopping the spread of virus rapidly in the body.

• The dosage of oral tablet of ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet depends on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
• You must swallow the whole tablets with some water.
• You can take ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet with or without food.
• Do not discontinue the medication without consulting a doctor.
• Take ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet regularly, because if you take it irregularly, you may develop hypersensitivity reaction.
• If you have stopped taking ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet for some reason, consult your doctor before starting ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet again.
• If you miss a dose of ABAMUNE 300mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.

  • group 5 - shortness of breath, cough, sore throat.
• Lactic acidosis: lactic acid builds up in the body and cause internal organ failure (nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, weight loss, rapid difficult breathing, weakness of limbs);
• Osteonecrosis- decay and death of the bone of hips, knee and shoulder due to loss of blood supply. this occurs in people who are on long tern treatment, steroids, overweight. symptoms are pain and stiffness in the joint and difficulty in walking.
