Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
- are allergic (hypersensitive) to Cyproheptadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have a history of bronchial asthma
- have intraocular pressure
- have hyperthyroidism
- have cardiovascular disease
- have hypertension
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- ABITOL 4MG should be swallowed whole with a drink of water
- Do not cut, crush or chew this medicine
- The total daily dose for adults should not exceed 0.5 mg/kg/day
- The therapeutic range is 4 to 20 mg a day, with most patients requiring 12 to 16 mg a day
If you take more ABITOL 4MG
- If you take more, contact your doctor
If you forgot to take ABITOL 4MG
- If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed dose. Take the next dose as usual. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking ABITOL 4MG
- Do not stop taking your medicine unless your doctor has told you to
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

allergic skin rash and hives
severe allergic reaction which causes difficulty in breathing or dizziness
- increased heart rate
- feeling sleepy, dizzy, problems with co-ordination or feeling tired
- feeling confused, restless, over excited, nervous, irritable or trembling
- feeling faint
- headache
- inflammation inside the ear, ringing in the ears
- blurred or double vision
- vertigo
- blocked nose
- feeling wheezy
- tight chest
- low blood pressure
- nosebleeds
- difficulty passing urine
- menstrual problems
