What is ALFUGRESS 10MG?
- ALFUGRESS 10MG contains Alfuzosin which belongs to a group of medicines alpha-blockers
- It works by relaxing the prostate gland muscle. This allows the urethra relax and thus make it easier to pass urine

Talk to your doctor before taking ALFUGRESS 10MG, If you:
- are allergic to ALFUGRESS 10MG or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have orthostatic hypotension marked by drop-in blood pressure which usually happens when you stand up
- have severe heart or liver problems
- have chest pain
- have a long-term infection in your urinary tract
- are undergoing eye surgery
- are going to have an operation that needs a general anaesthetic
- are taking medicines for high blood pressure
- have circulatory problems affecting the brain as there is a risk of impaired brain function due to low blood flow
- are over 65years of age
- get painful erections of the penis, unrelated to sexual activity that will not go away, before or during treatment
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines including herbal medicines.
- Other alpha-blockers such as doxazosin, indoramin, prazosin, terazosin, tamsulosin, or phenoxybenzamine
- medicine used to treat high blood pressure
- ketoconazole or itraconazole medicine used to treat fungal infection
- Ritonavir medicine used to treat viral infection
- Glyceryl trinitrate medicine used for chest pain
- Always take ALFUGRESS 10MG exactly as your doctor has told you
- Swallow the tablets whole
- The first dose should be taken just before bedtime
- The actual dose of ALFUGRESS 10MG depends on your needs and the condition being treated
- The usual dose is one tablet three times a day
If you take more ALFUGRESS 10MG
- If you take more ALFUGRESS 10MG, contact your Emergency department straight away
If you forget to take ALFUGRESS 10MG
- If you miss a dose, take the missed dose as soon as you remember but do not take two doses in one day
If you stop taking ALFUGRESS 10MG
- Keep taking your tablets, even if your symptoms improve. Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor tells you
Like all medicines, ALFUGRESS 10MG can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- itchy, lumpy rash or swelling of the hands, feet, ankles, face, lips or throat which may cause difficulty in swallowing or breathing
- chest pain (angina)
- painful erection of the penis, not related to sexual activity, which will not go away
- liver problem marked by yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes
- problems during cataract surgery in patients taking ALFUGRESS 10MG
- abnormal heart rhythm
- impaired brain functions due to low blood flow in patients with existing circulatory problems affecting the brain
- increased risk of bleeding (including nose bleeds and/or bleeding gums) and bruising
- feeling dizzy or faint
- headache
- nausea
- weakness or tiredness
- diarrhoea
- general feeling of being unwell
- dry mouth
- a fast heart beat (tachycardia), pounding in the chest and uneven heartbeat (palpitations)
- chest pain
- drowsiness
- rash and itching
- flushes
- problems with your vision
- runny nose, itching, sneezing, stuffy nose and/or burning eyes. these could be symptoms of an allergy
- water retention (may cause swollen arms of legs)
- lack of control over passing water
