What BANDRONE is used for?
- BANDRONE is used to treat osteoporosis in women after menopause
Talk to your doctor before taking BANDRONE, if you:
are allergic to Ibandronate or any of the ingredients in BANDRONE
- have kidney problems
- have low levels of calcium in your blood
- have trouble absorbing minerals in your stomach or intestines (malabsorption syndrome)
- have any problems with your mouth or teeth such as poor dental health, gum disease, or a planned tooth extraction
- are a smoker (as this may increase the risk of dental problems)
- have previously been treated with a bisphosphonate (used to treat or prevent bone disorders)
- have cancer
- BANDRONE is for use only by postmenopausal women and must not be taken by women who could become pregnant
- Do not take BANDRONE if you are pregnant or breast-feeding
- Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- low calcium levels in your blood (hypocalcemia)
- severe kidney problems
- severe jaw bone problems (osteonecrosis)
- bone, joint or muscle pain
- unusual thigh bone fractures
- spasms, twitches, or cramps in your muscles
- numbness or tingling in your fingers, toes, or around your mouth
- serious allergic reaction such as swelling of your face, lips, mouth or tongue,trouble in breathing
- wheezing
- severe itching, skin rash, redness or swelling
- dizziness or fainting
- fast heartbeat
- sweating
