Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, If you
- are allergic to Bethanechol chloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have blockage of your gut
- have recent heart attack
- have recent surgery on your stomach
- are elderly
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- Quinidine and procainamide, medicine used to treat abnormal heart rhythms
- Distigmine and carbachol medicines used to treat urinary retention
- Trimethaphan medicines used to reduce high blood pressure during surgery as an adjunct to anaesthesia
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- The usual dose for adults is 10 to 25 mg taken three to four times a day
- BETHERAN should be swallowed whole with a glass of water. They should be taken half an hour before food
- It is advisable to take BETHERAN on an empty stomach to reduce the risk of feeling sick
If you take more BETHERAN
- If you take more BETHERAN, contact your doctor or the nearest hospital casualty department immediately
If you forget to take BETHERAN
- If you miss a dose and remember within an hour of when you should have taken it, you can take your usual dose
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take your next in the usual time
If you stop taking BETHERAN
- Do not stop taking BETHERAN unless your doctor tells you to do so
