What FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG is used for?
FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG is used to
- treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, If you:
- are allergic to FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG, other bisphosphonates or to other vitamin D products
- have liver or kidney problems
- have asthma
- have disorders which affect mineral metabolism
- have severe problems with muscles and bones
- have problems with swallowing
- have stomach or digestive problems
- have low blood calcium levels
- are planning for a dental surgery
- have sarcoidosis, leukemia, lymphoma
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- Take FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG one tablet once weekly
- Swallow tablets whole with plain water at least 30 minutes before the first food. Do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG and until after food
- Do not take FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG with coffee, tea, soda, or juice
- It is not recommended in patients with severe renal impairment (creatinine clearance less than 35 mL/min)
If you take more FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG
- If you take more FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately
If you forgot to take FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG
- If you miss a dose, take it the next morning after you remember. Then resume taking your weekly dose on your originally scheduled day of the week. Do not take two doses on the same day
If you stop taking FOSAVANCE 70/5600MG
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless told by your doctor
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- low calcium levels in your blood (hypocalcemia)
- bone, joint, or muscle pain
- severe jaw bone problems (osteonecrosis)
- unusual thigh bone fractures
