Talk to your doctor before taking MOFETYL S 360MG, if you:
- are allergic to mycophenolic acid, mycophenolate sodium or mycophenolate mofetil or to any of the other ingredients in this medicine
- have a sign of infection such as a fever or sore throat
- have any unexpected bruising or bleeding
- have ever had a problem with your digestive system such as a stomach ulcer
- have diseases of the blood
- have kidney problem
- have stomach problem(e.g. ulcers caused by the action of stomach acid) or gastrointestinal tract (e.g. ulcers, bleeding, and perforation)
- need to receive vaccines (live attenuated vaccines)
- MOFETYL S 360MG causes birth defects and miscarriage
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine or use an effective contraceptive pill
- MOFETYL S 360MG must not be used while breast-feeding, or up to 6 weeks after you have stopped therapy
Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken, any other medicines
- Azathioprine, tacrolimus or other medicines which suppress your immune system given after a transplant operation
- Cholestyramine used to treat high cholesterol
- Antacids, or proton pump inhibitors used for acid problems in your stomach such as indigestion
- Phosphate binders used by people with chronic kidney failure to reduce how much phosphate gets absorbed into their blood
- Acyclovir (a medicine used to treat herpes infection)
- Gancyclovir (a medicine used to treat cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection)
- Non-prescription medications, including any natural health product
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- The recommended dose in adult is 720 mg administered twice daily
- Do not break, crush, chew or cut tablets
- The tablets should be swallowed whole with plenty of water
- It should be taken on an empty stomach, one hour before or two hours after food intake
- Space your two doses of this medicine as evenly as you can throughout the day leaving about 12 hours between each dose
- Try to take your doses at the same times each day
- This will help keep a constant amount of drug in your body so it can continue to protect your transplanted organ
- Vomiting or diarrhea may prevent this medicine from being taken up into your body
If you take more MOFETYL S 360MG
- If you take more MOFETYL S 360MG than you should, talk to a doctor or go to a hospital straight away
If you forget to take MOFETYL S 360MG
- If you forget to take your medicine at any time take it as soon as you remember
- Then continue to take it at the usual times
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose
If you stop taking MOFETYL S 360MG
- Do not stop taking MOFETYL S 360MG unless your doctor tells you to
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

- fever, chills, sweating, fatigue, drowsiness, or lack of energy
- you may be more susceptible to infections than usual which may affect various body systems, the most common being the urinary tract, the respiratory tract and the skin
- vision changes, loss of coordination, clumsiness, memory loss, difficulty speaking or understanding what others say, and muscle weakness, these can be the signs and symptoms of an infection of the brain called progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy
- enlarged glands, new or enlarging skin growths, or a change in an existing mole
- unusual tiredness, headache, shortness of breath with exercise or at rest, dizziness, chest pain, looking pale
- bleeding or bruising more easily than normal (signs of low level of blood platelets-thrombocytopenia)
- muscle spasms, abnormal heart rhythm (possible symptoms of high level of potassium in the blood) (hyperkalemia)
- abnormal blood test results (low level of magnesium in the blood) (hypomagnesemia)
- excessive emotional distress, troubled (symptoms of anxiety)
- dizziness
- headache
- cough
- headache, dizziness, possibly with nausea (possible symptoms of severe high blood pressure) (aggravated hypertension)
- shortness of breath, (possible symptoms of dyspnea or dyspnea exertional) pain (e.g. in the abdomen, stomach, or joints)
- constipation
- indigestion
- flatulence
- loose stools,nausea , vomiting ,tiredness, fever
- abnormal results of liver or kidney test
- pain in join (arthralgia)
- weakness (asthenia), muscle pain (myalgia)
- swollen hands, ankles or feet
- cyst containing lymph fluid
- difficulty in sleeping
- shakiness
- lung congestion
- shortness of breath
- belching, bad breath, bowel obstruction, inflammation of the oesophagus
- bloody or black stools ,tongue discoloration ,dry mouth, heartburn
- inflammation of the gums
- inflammation of the lining of the abdominal cavity
- feeling very tired
- difficulty sleeping
- pains (such as stomach, chest, joint or muscle, pain on passing urine)
- headache

- MOFETYL S 360MG reduces your bodys Defense
- As a result, there is an increased risk of skin cancer
- Limit the amount of sunlight and UV light you get by wearing protective clothing which also covers your head, neck, arms and legs and by using a sunscreen with a high protection factor
