Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
- are allergic (hypersensitive) to glibenclamide, pioglitazone, metformin
- suffer from early onset or type I diabetes (requiring insulin)
- suffer from severe kidney disease and liver problems
- are suffering from ketoacidosis (caused by excessively high blood sugars in diabetics)
- are suffering from any severe infection
- are suffering from stress
- are suffering from any condition likely to make controlling your blood sugar difficult
- are due to undergo surgery
- have reduced consciousness or coma resulting from your diabetes
- have porphyria (a disease of blood proteins affecting the skin, gut and nervous system)
- have severe heart failure
- drink a lot of alcohol (all the time or short binge drinking)
- have a type of diabetic eye disease that causes swelling in the back of the eye (macular edema)
- have or have had cancer of the bladder
- Talk to your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant about the best way to control your blood glucose levels while pregnant
- It is not known if this medicine passes into your milk and if it can harm your baby. Talk to your doctor about the best way to control your blood glucose levels while breastfeeding
Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription or any other medicines such as:
- aspirin, other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, azapropazone and phenylbutazone, medicines used to reduce pain and inflammation
- isoniazid, rifamycin, chloramphenicol, co-trimoxazole, sulphonamides and tetracyclines, medicines used to treat bacterial infections
- monoamine oxidase inhibitors, medicines used to treat depression
- miconazole, medicines used to treat fungal infections
- allopurinol, sulfinpyrazone and probenecid, medicines used to treat gout
- diazoxide, captopril, enalapril and beta-blockers, medicines used to treat high blood pressure
- quinine and quinidine, medicines used to treat and prevent malaria
- warfarin and disopyramide, medicines used to thin the blood and prevent clotting
- lithium (used to treat manic depression/bipolar disorder)
- hormone treatments and contraceptives (e.g. testosterone, oestrogens, progesterones, oral contraceptives, anabolic steroids, corticosteroids and ocreotides)
- thyroid hormone (used to treat an underactive thyroid gland)
- ciclosporin, used to prevent organ transplant rejection
- bosentan, used to treat high blood pressure
- gemfibrozil, clofibrate (used to lower cholesterol)
- cimetidine and ranitidine used to treat stomach ulcers
- crisantaspase used in the treatment of cancer
- Always take this medicine as your doctor has told you
- This medicine should be swallowed whole with full glass of water
- Do not crush or chewed this medicine
If you take more TRIGLYCOMET 7.5MG
- If you (or anybody else, including a child) take more of TRIGLYCOMET 7.5MG, contact your nearest hospital or your doctor immediately. Signs that could indicate you have taken too many are symptoms of low blood sugar which include sweating, hunger, increased heart rate, reduced consciousness, coma or seizures
If you forget to take TRIGLYCOMET 7.5MG
- If you forget to take TRIGLYCOMET 7.5MG, take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take two doses at the same time
If you stop taking TRIGLYCOMET 7.5MG
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Glibenclamide
- rash
- itching
- difficulty breathing
Pioglitazone
- new or worse heart failure
- fluid retention, which leads to swelling and weight gain
- shortness of breath or trouble breathing, especially when you lie down
- blurred vision due to swelling (or fluid) at the back of the eye
- serious allergic reaction, including hives and swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or throat that may cause difficulty in breathing or swallowing
Metformin hydrochloride
- cold in your hands or feet
- dizzy or lightheaded
- slow or irregular heartbeat
- muscle pain
- trouble breathing
- sleepy or drowsy
- stomach pains, nausea, or vomiting
Glibenclamide
- rash
- itching
- sensitivity to light
- skin inflammation
- jaundice (yellowing of the blistering of the skin, skin or the whites of the eyes) mouth, eyes and changes in blood cells genitals
- fever
- liver problems
- low blood sugar
- water retention
- feeling and being sick
- problems with blood (nausea/vomiting) salt levels
- anorexia
- heartburn
- increased appetite
- weight gain
- metallic taste

- respiratory infection
- abnormal vision
- weight gain
- numbness
Metformin
- hypoglycemia
- diarrhea
- nausea
- upset stomach or stomach pain
