VALKEM OD 500MG contains Divalproex which belongs to a group of medicines called Anti-Epileptics.

THERAPEUTIC USES:

What VALKEM OD 500MG is used for?VALKEM OD 500MG is used,

• to prevent migraine headaches.
• to treat manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder.
• to treat simple and complex absence seizures, with or without other seizure types.
• to treat complex partial seizures in adults and children 10 years of age and older.

INTERACTIONS:

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, herbal supplements and medicines that you take for a short period of time.

• Rifampin
• Primidone.
• Phenytoin.
• Carbamazepine.
• Phenobarbital.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE:

• Take VALKEM OD 500MG exactly as your healthcare provider tells you Your healthcare provider may change your dose.

SIDE EFFECTS:

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

SERIOUS:

• dark urine.
• panic attacks.
• suicidal thoughts.
• abdominal discomfort.
• swelling of your face.
• of your skin or eyes.
• trouble sleeping (insomnia).
• worse depression or anxiety.
• drowsiness or sleepiness in the elderly.
• nausea or vomiting that does not go away.
• liver damage that can cause death, especially in children younger than 2 years old.

STORAGE:

• Store at room temperature (15-25C).
• Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
• Do not use this medicine after the expiry date.
